The construction of the new classroom, along with a small office, is now a fact!
With great effort from everyone, the classroom that will be used by children from 3 to 5 years old has been completed.
The old classroom had become too small and lacked the minimum practicality that a classroom for children of that age should have. As for the office, it will be the first one in the school.
The investment made to date allowed the construction of the classroom and the complementary office. The classroom is already being used by the school. The next stages are to finish the missing parts. But we have already taken a very important step!!
Many thanks to all the people who dedicated time and contributed financially, without their help it would not have been possible!!!!!
This investment is financed through crowdfunding created and managed by BEINE on the Kukumiku platform.
Brief description of the project
In 2015, thanks to the eternal help of Ángel , an angel from Madrid, contact was made and the first meeting took place with the owner of the school, Pastor James , who informed us and showed us in-situ the needs that the school had in order to continue its development and daily activities for the more than 100 girls and boys who attended kindergarten and primary classes.
The decision was made to create the “Ghana Smiles” project to raise awareness and funds to address many of these needs.
During the first few months, the contribution was very large , covering the cost of building maintenance, the purchase of educational materials, sports shirts, bicycles for teachers and two small laptops, among other investments made. The money was raised through crowdfunding and private donations.
Since 2016, we have continued to work with Pastor James to meet specific and urgent needs. Among them, the construction of a new classroom to expand its educational offering . Since 2016, the school has begun to teach classes to upper-level youth , reaching a total of 200 students in the three educational cycles by 2022 .
In 2023, another visit will be made to the school, providing educational materials, sports shirts and toys for the little ones. During this visit , Pastor James will also work on current needs, progress made and define the new action plan for the short and medium term.
Current status of the project: Ongoing, seeking constant continuity. Building a new classroom and office.
Partial project results: 20 actions already carried out since 2015: Construction of classrooms, warehouse, purchase of teaching materials, donations of clothing and sports equipment, various repairs, purchase of two small computers, among other actions necessary to continue operating and expand the school so that by 2023 it will have more than 200 students.
